“Our son has had the privilege of working with Mr. Scott through his Instructional Camps, Private lessons, Instructional Fall Programs and travel teams and am able to recommend Future Prospects Baseball, which has consistently been of the highest standard, without reservation.

Teaching athletes to improve their performance is the essence of sports coaching. I’ve observed him transform clients from 6 to 18, those that barely knew how to catch to the gifted, most acclaimed talented Division 1 players.

His commitment to bringing high quality sporting experiences to all children is lived out in his personal approach and the extremely high standards he expects from every coach associated with the organization. They are experienced, accomplished and exceptional with children at all levels and ages. They are fantastic role models for them to follow as they grow through their playing years. The instructors care about the players and they adore them. The families of travel teams are wonderful and supportive of each other.

Charles is physically gifted to be a fierce competitor, but not so much that he could make mistakes and still win. He was forced to learn both the physical and mental aspects of baseball. Having the skills is one thing, but knowing how to properly use it to your advantage is far more important.

Never before had we experienced coaches who could properly demonstrate all of the on field techniques. Charles and his professional staff have an unparalleled knowledge of this sport and can communicate it to anyone who truly has a desire to learn. They will patiently go through whatever you’re working on a thousand times until you get it. And literally, that’s what it might take. He will take you as far as you have the willingness to push yourself. It’s not always pretty or fun during the process. In fact, at times my son was convinced he would NEVER get it. And he was on the verge of tears on more than one occasion. But the results stand for themselves.

Never before had coaches sat down and created individual goals. Before an important game, the coaches discussed how much he believed in him and how he should believe in himself. Future Prospects instructors transcend the ability to become not just your coach, but a mentor. As a player, when your internal voice is rational, at the time when you are on the physical edge of your abilities, you know your coach is the real deal.

Our son has accomplished goals-more than he ever dreamed a year ago. I truly believe that it is due to the wonderful coaches, supportive families and atmosphere of this program. My son loves baseball more than ever before. He has very close friendships with fellow teammates-friendships that will probably last a lifetime. The best thing any parent of a dedicated and motivated baseball player could do for their children is to bring them to Future Prospects.”

“Charles and his staff have been incredible coaches and mentors for our two sons.

Colin, our high school sophmore, began seeing Charles last Fall after a serious arm injury sidelined him for several months. Charles reworked Colin’s pitching mechanics, and he helped refine Colin’s batting stance and swing. The results speak for themselves. Colin batted over .300 in the MCAL varsity season as a 15 year old. And he was able to resume pitching with greater control and no more pain.

Daniel, our 11 year old, also refined his batting. He went from a 2 inning and 1 at bat player last year, to a six inning starter and his team’s leading hitter. And the fielding and throwing drills with Rasheed helped Daniel become his league’s best second baseman.

Charles, Rashid, and all the Future Prospects coaches have helped develop our sons’ baseball skills, but also their sportsmanship, drive, discipline, and love of the game. Thank you!”

“Charles Scott has made a huge difference in Sam’s performance. Charles diagnosed and corrected problems with Sam’s pitching and hitting. The results have been spectacular and have enabled Sam to attract the attention of a number of college coaches! Thanks so much, Charles!”

“I want to thank you again for the great experience that you gave my son Jonathan. He really enjoyed your camp. My wife Sue and I talked it over about your fall ball program. In talking to you today I surely want the very best for Jonathan and in watching you coach those kids in the field I can only imagine what you can do with my son. Jonathan will be going into Marin Catholic the year after next so he has a whole year and a half to prepare before he gets into high school baseball. Please let me know what we need to do to sign him up for your program. And thanks again for the wonderful 3 days he had, he will be in your end of the month camp at Marin Catholic as well.”

“Just wanted to let you know what a great experience it was for Mitch and our family being part of the Future Prospects U14 travel team this season.

Mitch not only gained valuable knowledge and experience playing for you on the field…but as importantly, I think he also learned valuable lessons that will serve him equally well off the field…as he matures into a young man about ready to enter high school.

Mitch is looking forward to the opportunity of re-joining you and the Future Prospects U14 team in the Fall, following the Summer break.

Mitch would like to continue to take lessons through the Summer…and he’s committed to continuing to work on and improve upon his skills as a baseball player.

Thank you again for all your leadership and positive influence on Mitch…Kids these days need great role models…and you and your coaching staff (Stefen, Rashid and Jeff) have all been a very positive influence on Mitch.

Have a great Summer, Charles….and we’ll look forward to continuing to be part of the Future Prospects extended family again in the Fall!

“I want you to know how much I appreciate what you have done for Cameron as a ballplayer and a young man, the Future Prospects experience has been an important one for him in his development – and I believe your approach in particular has really been a positive. He has developed a quiet confidence. I genuinely appreciate your counsel, and I am certain that Cam will be continuing his individual work with you as time permits. Thank you again and all the best.”

- Bill Croteau

Yesterday Danny said that it was his BEST baseball day ever between the lesson and how he performed at practice. You are truly his mentor who believes in him and he GETS it. You return him to center when his confidence falters. The respect that you show him, is just the right medicine and I don’t think that I have to tell you how much he respects you. AND he knows why he does! For him/us it’s about your deep commitment to developing the ‘inner core’ of these kids. With so much money and privilege around here, so much of that is forgotten or hasn’t even been developed and entitlement is more of an assumption. We don’t come from that place, nor can we possibly compete with these opportunities. We have a great kid who gets the whole package of what it means to be a true athlete and role model for hard work, respect for the game, teammates and LIFE.

Stay focused on the prize Charles, the financial rewards are great and you deserve them. The building of strong, talented and conscious ‘boyz to men’ is the true gift that you give, effortlessly, by just being YOU!

- Fritzi Schnel

“Thanks!! He loved Future Prospects camp so much that he won’t go to any other baseball camp now.

- Sara McMillen

“We want to thank you and Rashid for believing in our son and for always being there for him in the good times and the bad times, especially when his spirit was down, both of you always found words to encourage him to do his best and believe in himself.

You and Rashid have been a big inspiration for Ben and he and loves you both. He is very proud to be one of your students and loves to wear his “Future Prospect” t-shirts with pride. Oh and by the way so does his dad. “lol.” Thanks.”

- Elena & Pedro Gonzalez

“I know you’re busy but I felt compelled to let you know that William’s first game with the San Marin team is Wednesday.

I won’t bore you with details but the pitching coach was pretty impressed with Will’s technique, speed, and command. As a result, today Will was told that he would be pitching in the opening game. He’s very excited about that (not to mention his Mom and I).

I believe that the training my son had with you had everything to do with this result. From my point of view, money well spent.

Please continue to call with openings. William is motivated to take advantage of any opportunity to work with you. Many thanks.”

- Jim Kley

I cannot say enough about Charles Scott and his staff at Future Prospects; they are true professionals. But more importantly, they are quality people. It’s refreshing to know that their focus is all about the kids – not their own egos.

Charles delivers a first class product with each lesson tailored to address the specific needs of my son. The Future Prospects philosophy teaches not only the skills to play the game but imparts the all too often overlooked aspects of commitment, sportsmanship and respect for the game.

Charles has become a coach, mentor, and role model for my son; all the while instilling a renewed love for the game that my son had lost. His ability and self-confidence have increased 100% under the Future Prospects system. I’m happy to say that my son has grown tremendously as an athlete and young man thanks to Charles’ influence.

No matter what your child’s age or ability, if they’re serious about becoming a better baseball player, I highly recommend Charles Scott and Future Prospects.

Scouts & Professional References

I have the distinct pleasure of writing this letter of recommendation for Charles Scott and his baseball school “Future Prospects”. I have known Charles for ever 12 years and our friendship began when he guided me as I began my scouting career. I have great respect and admiration for Charles both professionally and personally.

As our careers moved in different directions he has always made time for friends and peers in the baseball community. Charles passion, commitment and strong work ethic that he has for the game let alone his baseball camps is beyond reproach.

I have had the distinct pleasure of attending several of his camps as well as having discussed different philosophies on developing players.

If you are seeking to find premiere instruction for young baseball players then “Future Prospects” is an excellent choice. “Future Prospects” can provide quality coaching from entry level players all the way through the professional ranks.

During the camps the attendees are instructed by professionals who have been in baseball for many years and they have hands on experience.

Today’s young athletes have many challenges ahead of them and in my opinion Charles as the director has the knowledge and intuitiveness to bring to the surface the athletes skills on every level.

Finally, let me unequivocally state my strong recommendation for “Future Prospects” on their commitment to improving quality baseball instruction.

- James Merriweather, Professional Baseball Scout, Pittsburgh Pirates

“Charles Scott and Future Prospects Baseball is truly the answer for teaching youngsters how the game of baseball is played and how you treat teammates, coaches, and opponents. In other words, Charles is a great mentor for young men in the game of baseball and the game of life.

Both of my sons pitched in division 1 college programs, and they would constantly pick Charles brain for tips on mechanics, the mental part of pitching, etc.-he was always there to help them. If you’re like me, at some point of your son’s development in this game, they stop listening to their dad. Charles definitely can take them to the next level and you can breathe a sigh of relief.

Whether it is private lessons, camps, or travel teams, the opportunity to be associated with Future Prospects Baseball is well worth it.”

- Stew Colton, Kelly Athletic Owner & Ex-professional Player, Kansas City Royals, Reno, Nv.

“I met Charles in May 1984 while he was a baseball player at ASU, but the meeting that showed me that Charles has something on the ball was 2 years later when he was a minor league pitcher for the Cleveland Indians: During the offseason he threw batting practice to a bunch of minor league hitters including myself, he did not complain and as long as we wanted to hit he was willing to throw, even at the detriment of his own career. That spoke volumes to me – Now forward to 1999: Charles Scott a promising area scout with the then name Tampa Bay Devil, had a career going north in the business of scouting, took a 1st year scout (Kevin Bootay) going to his 1st official game under his wing as a friend first, mentor second with total trust in me and the process. That says a lot especially when Major League Baseball is so competitive, he had a total belief in his skill set and felt that he could beat you anyway. With all of his skill, knowledge and likeability he started a little company that all of you know as: Future Prospects Baseball. I’ve watched this little company become a real force in the baseball industry: I’ve done lessons and camps with Charles and I must say his instruction is second to none, second to none. Finally, I’m extremely proud of Charles Scott and Future Prospects Baseball, they are one in the same.”

- Kevin Bootay, Scout: Texas Rangers Baseball Club

“If you’re looking for a program where you can feel comfortable about your child learning to play the game of baseball properly you’ve found the right place. Future Prospects Baseball offers everything you need to become a complete ballplayer. From the way practices are ran to game preparation the staff is very efficient and organized very similar to that of a Major League Organization.”

“Yesterdays practice was fantastic, great organization. Jared said he had more fun than ever and even noticed that it was run like a Pro pre-game. We had a great time and look forward to the summer. Thanks.”

- Jerry Goff, ex Major League Player

“I’ve known Charles Scott since 1999. I have had the pleasure of working against him in the scouting industry, as well as, assisting him at his camps. Through the years, I have found that Charles Scott has many stellar qualities. Along with his vast knowledge of baseball, he is well organized, motivated and very detailed oriented. I feel strongly that Future Pro Prospects will make your child a better baseball player.

- Steve Hinton, Assistant to Scouting Director, Chicago Cubs

“As Commissioner of Tiburon Little League Pro Coaching, I was charged last winter with analyzing what our little league baseball program needed most and clearly hitting was at the forefront. I chose Charles Scott based upon his attitude, approach to teaching and his overall philosophy towards baseball. I informed our Board that league wide results might take two or three seasons but I was wrong. At our Major’s level, league wide hitting immediately improved including more home runs by more players than ever before. Our team coaches and players all enjoy working with Charles Scott and many parents have hired Mr. Scott for personal one-on-one hitting instruction with their child.”

- Grover Wilson III, Pro Coaching Commissioner, Tiburon Peninsula Little League

“Working with Charles Scott greatly improved my skills. He taught me proper mechanics as a pitcher, which increased my velocity. Also, as a hitter he worked with me doing many drills and explained to me the steps to hitting, which allowed me to hit for average and power. As a person Charles is a great guy and very easy to get along with. He is very knowledgeable about baseball and if you are looking to improve your skills he is the right person to go to. “

- Rick Hughes, 2008 MCAL Pitcher of the Year

“Easily one of the best baseball investments I have ever made is working with Charles Scott. The pitching tools I acquired working with him have stuck and made me into a better baseball player, and will continue to make me a better baseball player!!”

Past, present and future client of Charles Scott,

- Mike Colla, Pittsburgh Pirates Minor League Player

“I came to Charles Scott in 2005 as I was entering my sophomore year and playing baseball at Fresno City College. I always thought I knew the game pretty well especially as a Pitcher, but once I met him I was totally wrong. I realized that I was a thrower not a pitcher. I did not realize how many different aspects to the art of pitching there were till I met Charles. What he did was break it down in so many ways, from what pitches to throw in the beginning of the game, what not to throw, watching how the batter stands in the box, to really paying attention to what the batter had done in his last at bat against you. The way he taught me was in a way not only as an instructor but as a veteran teaching a rookie all the little things that matter. Baseball is a game of mental toughness and I didn’t have any of that until I met Charles, not only did he prepare me physical for each game but also mentally by breaking down every aspect of the mental side of baseball. He taught me “so what, focus on the next task at hand.” Little things like that pushed me to succeed even more and I ended up having a very successful college career at the Division 2 level.”

- Taylor Lewis, Fresno City, 1st Team All Conference, Sonoma State University

“Coach Charles-

Thank you so much for everything this year. I had a great time and I became a better player in the process. It was a true privilege to play for you and call myself a Future Prospect. I gained a lot of skill, knowledge, and confidence through you and your program. You did an amazing job of fine tuning not just mine but everyone’s fielding, throwing, and hitting, and I know this will truly help me and everyone else become a better high school player.

I had never really experienced anything like travel ball, and it was really different. I didn’t think I could handle it at first, but I later started to get the hang of it and I really liked it. Nothing can quite compare to the rush of playing under the lights at a replica of Polo Grounds in Manteca. It was very intimidating, but much thanks to you I wasn’t scared like a might have been before. It was such a great experience doing what we did and accomplishing what we accomplished. And hell, for the first ever 14 year old future prospect travel team, we did a pretty good job. I can’t wait to play for you again in the Fall. Thanks again.”

- Joe Compagno

“Thank you so much for all that you did for me over the course of this season. I am so grateful that I received the best instruction of my life at such a crucial moment in my life. I really needed it. I feel that I have received the necessary skills to do a lot better in high school than I would have done without attending your program. For that, I thank you. I was sad to see our team not do as successful as we hoped for, but I really enjoyed this season. I know I have a lot more to work on, but you helped me on the first step and more, and I hope to continue that process.

Thank you Charles.”
