Fall Ball

Fall Ball for ages 9-12

Goal of Future Prospects Baseball Fall Ball

Participation in athletics plays a valuable role in the healthy development of children. Participation builds self-esteem, promotes teamwork, develops physical and mental skills, and is an integral part of the maturing process. It is my responsibility to provide a safe and high quality program that nurtures all of these important life experiences for children.

Fall-Ball

The goal of FPB (Future Prospects Baseball) Fall Ball is to provide a quality program for 9 – 12 year olds to increase and maximize their skill level. We will promote teamwork, build self-esteem and promote learning to raise participant’s skill level.

In fulfillment of this goal, this Fall Ball program will:

  • Provide the highest level of qualified coaching. I will bring in specialized athletes to help with agility training and even some qualified high school help to encourage the kids.
  • offer interesting, varied and productive activities to enhance their skills
  • Supply the most qualified staff to share their knowledge and skills of the game and serve as a positive role model for all participants.
  • Emphasize the spirit of sportsmanship and cooperation for all.

At the end of each session, participant should feel inspired, find they have made new friends, learned new skills, and experienced an enhanced sense of confidence and self-esteem. We will even improve your son’s baseball IQ.

This is a comprehensive, Five-Tool Performance Program that combines Baseball Skill Training with High-Performance Speed Training. We will work on:

  • Hitting
  • Hitting for Power
  • Throwing
  • Fielding
  • Running

Cost - The cost of our Fall Baseball program is $950.

Time Commitments and Expectations – I would like your children dressed and on time to all practices. Practices will be held 2 days a week on either a Monday/Wednesday schedule or a Tuesday/Thursday schedule depending upon which team your child is on. There will be 4 teams and each roster will have 11 players. There will be no weekend requirements with the exception of my teams attending an A’s game as one of our team building events. The Fall Ball program lasts 2 months and begins in September, the day after Labor Day. The first month we focus on improving our baseball skills during practice, while the second month we play games against our other Future Prospects teams.

Missing Practice – As a father of 3 children, I realize that homework, sickness, dentist or doctor appointments, performances, etc…occur and that’s part of life. I understand that all kids will not be able to attend all practices. Let’s all do our best to be as dedicated and sincere to this program and put forth a strong effort to make as many practices as possible. Players will not be penalized due to other obligations. All kids will have equal game time, regardless. I am here to teach you child and improve their baseball skills. If you can’t make a practice simply call me and leave a message or email me at cscott@futureprospectsbaseball.com.

Words from the Coach – I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my players ahead of a personal desire to win, and remember that the game is for children, not adults. I plan for my staff and me to lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all my players. Most of all, I will do my best to organize practices that are FUN, CHALLENGING AND SAFE for all players! One of the reasons I’m still involved in this game is because I had positive roll models and positive experiences playing the game. I plan to share this with my team to bring out the best of their abilities.

Quality Players – This program is designed to improve participant’s skill level to a higher level of competition and therefore I will be looking for the most dedicated type of players to fill my teams. Players should be mature and have a strong desire and be passionate about wanting to play baseball.

Advice for the Parents – If you have issues with my coaching, staff or techniques- please feel free to give me a call to discuss. I am a parent first and foremost, and I plan to be approachable for parents. It takes effective modeling from other adults besides the parents to ensure that our children learn how to live as responsible members of the community. As parents, we can be to emotionally close to our children so that we cannot clearly understand or guide our children through some of their problems. I will try to mentor your children. I am confident and grounded in my beliefs and behaviors. I plan to be stable in my ability to be open and honest and support your child on their journey, whether in baseball or in life. “The mentor is like a relief pitcher in a baseball game. He has plenty of energy for a short period of time and preserves the fruitful work performed earlier by his teammates.”

Parent Participation – Parents are free to watch practices. I hope that you will be able to talk to your child and find out he is having fun. I hope that parents can participate in all team gatherings and special events. I may need an extra chaperone/driver or two for the professional baseball games!
