“I want to welcome you to the Future Prospects Baseball and thank you for your participation in what I fully expect to be the best baseball experience you’ll ever have."
Charles Scott, Founder and Owner of Future Prospects Instructional Baseball
So much is said about young athletes and how best to teach them to maximize their potential, but my approach with the Future Prospects program is not only to teach the game I love but also to provide our players with a supportive environment where their skills and maturity can develop. As much as we may want to believe that young players need to be readied for potential major league careers, we at Future Prospects remain cognizant that these players are still kids and should have fun while learning the lessons we can teach.
I began Future Prospects over 18 years ago and have seen the program grow beyond my expectations because of some very simple rules I follow: we greatly care about every player in our program and give personal attention to their individual needs and development; we create a positive and encouraging environment for the players to realize their potential as ballplayers and as responsible young people; we provide reasonable challenges to advance players’ growth and development.
COACHES
Our elite coaches bring unmatched passion and energy, making baseball exciting and inspiring
Cody Morris
Cody Morris was born in Washington state, lived in Texas for 8 years, and moved to the Sacramento area to finish his high school days at Oak Ridge High School. From there he attended Cosumnes River College, where as a sophomore he received first team All Big 8 Honors (only striking out once during the season), won multiple athlete of the year awards, and earned a scholarship to Sonoma State University. After finishing up at Sonoma State he quickly picked up coaching in his free time, coaching at Sonoma Valley High School with the varsity team and beginning to do private 1-on-1 lessons. Cody quickly found he had a knack for coaching and loves sharing the knowledge from his long baseball career with young ballplayers! He has been with Future Prospects since 2021 and has had quick success in helping his teams grow as players and young men. Check out his instagram @cmohitting for hitting drills and advice!
Nick Robinson
Meet Nick, our very own Marin County kid! Back in his days at Drake High School, Nick played first base and outfield, winning the MCAL Championships in 2013 and graduating in 2014. He continued his love for baseball at Santa Rosa Junior College, where they won the State Championship in 2016. Nick then took his talents to the cornfields of Iowa finishing his final 2 collegiate seasons at Briar Cliff University, where he was named Offensive Player of the Year, 2nd Team All-Conference, and received a Golden Glove at 1st base. Now after his first year coaching at Future Prospects, and instructing 1 on 1 lessons, he’s on a mission to bring that passion to the next generation, proving that the love of the game is what will make you stand out. Check out his instagram @RobinsonAthletes where he posts drills and other baseball videos!
